Tiger Safari India Kanha National Park
KANHA is the place that has been described by RUDYARD KIPLING in his great book "The Jungle Book". Located in the Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh, Kanha National Park is a tiger reserve that extends over an area of over 940 square km. A horseshoe shaped valley bounded by the spurs of the Mekal presents an interesting topography. Steep rocky escarpments along the edges offer breathtaking views of the valley. Realizing the danger on the Tiger population in the country, the Government started the "Project Tiger" at Kanha and in 1974 the area was declared a Tiger reserve. The park is also the habitat of the high ground Barasingha.

In 1930s, the Kanha area was divided into two sanctuaries - Hallon and Banjar of 250kms to 300kms each. Though one of these was subsequently disbanded .The area remained a protected one until 1947. Depletion of the tiger population in the year that followed led to the area being made an absolute sanctuary in 1952.

Patient watching should reward the visitor, with a sight of Indian Fox, Sloth bear, striped hyena, Jungle cut, Leopard, Mouse Deer, Chausingha or four horned antelope, Nilgai, Ratel and Porcupine. Kanha has some 200 species of birds. Watchers should station themselves in the hills, where the mixed and bamboo forests harbor many species and in the grassy forest clearings. Water birds can be seen near the park’s many rivulets and at Sarvantal, a pool that is frequented by water birds and the area in front of the museum.

Day 1. Delhi
Arrive Delhi. On arrival transfer to Hotel Centre Point. Afternoon halfday city tour of Delhi. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 2. Delhi - Corbett National Park
Morning drive,6 hrs. On arrival transfer to Riverside Jungle lodge. Afternoon birdwatching alongwith river & overnight stay at Lodge.

Day 3. Dhikala
Early morning enter the Corbett Tiger reserve by Jeep alongwith Guide. Drive from Dhangarhi Park Gate to Dhikala Jungle lodge,enroute enjoy game viewing. On arrival transfer to Jungle lodge. Afternoon Jungle Safari by Jeep. Overnight stay at Dhikala Jungle lodge.

Day 4. Dhikala
Early morning Elephant ride into the Jungle for 2 Hrs. After breakfast game viewing by Jeep. Afternoon explore Dhikala range of Park. Overnight stay at Dhikala Jungle Lodge.

Day 5. Dhikala - Delhi
Early morning Drive to Dhangarhi gate by Jeeps & Proceed by Car back to Delhi. On arrival transfer to Hotel Centre point.

Day 6. Delhi - Jabalpur - Bandhavgarh National Park
Early morning transfer to Airport . On arrival in Jabalpur,transfer by car to Tiger trail Jungle lodge , 4 hrs. drive. Afternoon game drive to national park by Jeep with guide. Overnight stay at Jungle lodge.

Day 7. Bandhavgarh National Park
Morning & afternoon Game viewing inside the park by Jeep. Overnight stay at Jungle lodge.

Day 8. Bandhavgarh National Park
Morning & Afternoon game drive by Jeeps. Overnight stay at Jungle resort.

Day 9. Bandhavgarh National Park - Kanha Tiger Reserve
Morning transfer by Car to Kanha national Park. On arrival transfer to Wild Chalet Jungle resort. Afternoon Jungle safari by Jeep inside the park.

Day 10. Kanha Tiger Reserve
Morning & Afternoon Jeep safaris to explore wildlife in different parts of park. Overnight stay at Lodge.
